Apple Discontinues iPod Shuffle And iPod Nano
According to a statement in Bloomberg, Apple is discontinuing both the iPod Nano and the iPod Shuffle, and that both devices will be removed from the company’s brick-and-mortar and digital stores. The statement read, “Today, we are simplifying our iPod lineup with two models of iPod Touch, now with double the capacity, starting at just $199, and we are discontinuing the iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano.” In recent years, Apple has focused more on its app-driven iOS infrastructure and pushed its services like Apple Music, while devices like the Nano and Shuffle have become lower priorities for the tech giant. The new iPod Touch, basically an iPhone without the cellular capabilities, will offer extra storage space over the previous 16GB and 64GB versions of the device.
