Nintendo Switch Sells Nearly 5 Million Units In First Four Months
It seems Nintendo’s gamble to release a console/handheld hybrid is paying off. The Japanese gaming giant recently released its financial earnings report for the last quarter. Thanks to Switch, profits were up dramatically compared to the same period last year. This is certainly great news considering the dismal state Nintendo was in even at the beginning of 2017. During the quarter ending on June 30th, Nintendo sold 1.97 million Switch units. Overall, the system has lifetime sales of 4.7 million. Those are some impressive numbers considering how Nintendo is having a difficult time manufacturing their portable console. It is reasonable to assume sales would be even higher if Nintendo was able to meet demand. Since consumers still desire Nintendo’s system, it is likely sales won’t see any significant decline this year.
